Based in Launceston, Cornwall, Sally Reed is a professional Chartered Accountant who set up her own practice in 1999. The practice specialises in giving financial advice to small owner managed businesses.
What were the business issues or challenges that were addressed by engaging in training?
Sally’s business had a website but she wanted to be able to update it more regularly and add new features, and it seemed easier to learn how to do this herself, rather than relying on an outside IT professional to make the changes for her.
The training undertook:
Sally undertook a Degree Level Short Course in Website Design and Authoring that was part funded through an ESF Convergence project managed by Cornwall College Business.
What impact and benefits has the training had on the company?
The course enabled Sally to purchase Dreamweaver industry standard software at a substantial discount. Sally went from having no knowledge at all to being able to write a basic, fairly comprehensive website which is now one of their main marketing tools.
“The course was so much fun, well organised and I was impressed by the standard of the course and the tutor’s knowledge”.
